“Pulling back the curtain” on the 2025 Texas Bach Festival
TBF 2025 has some “new wrinkles” in store for music lovers throughout Georgetown and Central Texas for its eighth annual Festival, “Bach, Mozart and Beethoven: Succession of Genius.” For the first time, TBF will offer a classical guitar concert, “Best of Baroque,” featuring Dr. David Asbury from the Music faculty of Southwestern University on May 18 at the Georgetown Public Library. Next, on June 25 also at the Library, pianist Andrew Brownell from UT-Austin and baritone Michael Hix from the University of New Mexico will present a “Bach’s Lunch” joint recital featuring music of Bach and Mozart. Finally, during Festival week (June 24-29), Dr. Williamson will present a free seminar on The Mozart Requiem K 626 and Clarinet Concerto K 622, both to be performed in the TBF Choir and Camerata Orchestra’s June 29 Festival finale. The seminar will also address the “succession of genius” from Bach to Mozart to Beethoven, and will be open to all interested music lovers without charge. Date, time and location to be announced soon - stay tuned!
In addition, TBF’s 2025 Festival will feature organist Dr. David Polley performing Bach, Franck, Messiaen, Alain and Duruflé entitled “Bach in Paris ca. 1935” at Grace Episcopal Church on Tuesday, June 24, and the Artisan Quartet presenting a program of Beethoven string quartets on Friday, June 27 at First United Methodist Church - also the site of the aforementioned June 29 Festival Mozart finale.
Our 2025 festival will definitely be one for the ages, and we encourage ALL music aficionados and “curious” music lovers to get involved as a listener, sponsor/donor and/or advertiser! Ticket purchases can be made in early January when the ticket page becomes active. However, donations of any amount can be made now by clicking the gold bar link above. 100% of your contribution is tax-deductible, and will be applied directly toward our 2025 Festival expenses.
