Dr. Barry Scott Williamson, Founder and Artistic/Executive Director
TBF 2025 has some “new wrinkles” in store for music lovers throughout Georgetown and Central Texas for its eighth annual Festival, “Bach, Mozart and Beethoven: Succession of Genius.” For the first time, TBF will offer a classical guitar concert, “Best of Baroque,” featuring Dr. David Asbury from the Music faculty of Southwestern University on May 18 at the Georgetown Public Library. Next, on June 25 also at the Library, pianist Andrew Brownell from UT-Austin and baritone Michael Hix from the University of New Mexico-Albuquerque will present a “Bach’s Lunch” joint recital featuring music of Bach and Mozart. Finally, on June 26, Dr. Williamson will present a free session entitled “Q & A with the Maestro,” where attendees will have the opportunity to “Grill the Maestro” on topics such as the artistic impetus behind the 2025 Festival, the origins of Mozart’s Requiem, the art of conducting or any other areas of interest. Additionally, each Festival performance will be preceded with a performer talk, to educate and acquaint audience members more closely with the concert repertoire - including a 30-minute talk by Maestro Williamson before the triumphant Festival all-Mozart finale featuring the TBF Choir and Camerata performance of the Clarinet Concerto in A Major K 622 and Requiem in D Minor K 626. Be sure not to miss it - use our gold bar “Purchase Tickets” link above to order your tickets now for any of our 2025 concert series!
In addition, TBF’s 2025 Festival will feature organist Dr. David Polley performing Bach, Franck, Messiaen, Alain and Duruflé entitled “Bach in Paris ca. 1935” at Grace Episcopal Church on Tuesday, June 24, and the Artisan Quartet presenting “Defiant Genius,” with two vaunted Beethoven string quartets, Op 18 #5 and Op 59 #2, on June 27 at First United Methodist Church - also the site for the aforementioned June 29 all-Mozart finale.

We should all be cognizant and grateful for the sacrifice that veterans of all branches of our United States military have made for our country. To that end, TBF will acknowledge and honor our area veterans for their service by offering 100 free veterans tickets for our June 29 all-Mozart finale. The music of Mozart has long been acknowledged to possess healing effects on mind, body and spirit, and presents an ideal opportunity for us all to gather together and celebrate our great nation and our veterans’ sacrifice on its behalf with the great music of Mozart. If you are a veteran, or family member of a veteran, and would like additional information on this special free tickets project, contact Dr. Williamson at barry@texasbachfestival.org or Misty Cordero-Pierce, Outreach Coordinator for Wilco Veterans Services at misty.cordero-pierce@wilco.org.
TBF is excited to bring back one of the social highlights of last year’s festival, the post-concert RSVP “Dutch Treat” luncheon at City Post Chophouse following the Brownell/Hix joint recital on Wednesday, June 25! Limited to 35 persons, attendees must RSVP with Dr. Williamson at barry@texasbachfestival.org to secure a spot. This is a first-come, first served opportunity, so don’t delay!
